EUBCE the series of European Biomass Conference
The first of these conference has been organized and established by the European Commission in 1980 in
Brighton. The conference has now become one of the main highlight in the event calendar of the biomass
world. The conference covers all aspects of biomass, from basic research, innovation, deployment and
policies. The exhibition provides an excellent forum for creating the necessary links and partnerships
between academia, research institutions and industry, which can facilitate the most efficient “lab to
market” transfer.

BioReSteel at the ESPC-5 in Lleida, Spain

Members of the BioReSteel project participated in the fifth European Phosphorus Conference (ESPC-5) which was held from October 08th - 09th, 2024, in Lleida, Spain. The BioReSteel concept was presented to produce a advanced biofuel for the Electric Arc Furnace while recovering phosphorus from residual biomass.
The biocarbon seminar at Jernkontoret in Stockholm

The biocarbon seminar was successfully held on 29th May 2024 at Jernkontoret in Stockholm, Sweden. The event attracted significant interest from the Swedish metal industry, with major stakeholders such as SSAB, Alleima, Ovako Group, LKAB, Höganäs AB, and Vargön Alloys AB in attendance.
BioReSteel project meeting at KTH

The BioReSteel project meeting took place on May 28, 2024, at KTH in Stockholm, Sweden. The discussions focused on identifying the most suitable biomass residues for biocarbon production, key quality factors limiting biocarbon usage in EAF steelmaking, the role of biocarbon in the EAF process, and methods for producing bio-iron oxides briquettes.
The BioReSteel consortium met for the first time on the 28th and 29th November 2023 at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain.

Project partners had the chance to meet each other in person and discuss the project’s progress so far, brainstorm on possible ways to tackle the challenges they have been facing and exchange ideas about how they see the project evolving over the next years.
